About Plethora Exploration

Sustainability

Plethora Exploration strives to operate in a socially and environmentally sustainable manner.

We believe mineral exploration should be conducted in partnership with stakeholders at all levels, from private landowners, indigenous communities, through to local and national policy makers.

Our Responsibilities

Our Social Responsibility

  • We believe in conducting socially responsible mineral exploration, all current and future stakeholders should be engaged in our work throughout the life cycle of a project. Through continuous communication and engagement, we aim to build open and meaningful dialogues with the communities we work within.
  • We aim to provide opportunities to collaborate on projects, utilizing local resources and businesses to help advance our projects, and employing local people who have intimate knowledge of the regions we work in.
  • We believe it is important to give back to the communities and environments we work in. We do this by providing community sponsorship and support to relevant organizations and groups. Once such example is a recent donation to the Valnesvatnet Sørvika community fund in Norway to help upkeep the recreational area nearby our Frostmoen copper-cobalt exploration project.
  • We only work in regions of the world with well-developed democratic governments, clear and transparent legal systems, and the highest standards of human rights. We believe it is crucial our work is always in line with the regulations and laws set by the countries we operate in, and we strive to not only meet these requirements, but go beyond.

Our Environmental Responsibility

Mineral exploration by its nature requires interaction and work within the natural environment. We understand how important it is to respect, maintain, and uphold the environments we work in, whether that be forest, desert, or mountains. We conduct all of our work in line with the prevailing contract of work and environmental regulations. To minimize and mitigate impacts of mineral exploration we follow a stringent environmental management plan this includes:

  • Assessment, consultation, and planning prior to starting exploration activities. This ensures disturbance and disruption is kept to a minimum
  • Water monitoring of nearby waterbodies and wells prior to and following exploration drilling
  • Soil monitoring of the ground prior to and following exploration drilling
  • Noise reduction solutions during exploration drilling
  • Management of hazardous and toxic materials and their waste
  • Monitoring and offsetting our carbon dioxide footprint by donating an equal amount to a local environmental organization

Health and Safety

The safety of our people, the communities we work in, and everyone involved in our projects is extremely important to us. Prior to work commencing, health, safety, and environmental risk assessments are undertaken by the company. The goal is to determinate risk factors and take appropriate measures to mitigate and minimize them as much as possible.

In the event of an incident a report is logged and sent to the management. An internal procedure to investigate the incident is then undertaken and appropriate measures are taken to prevent similar accidents in the future.
